School Sports - What's Happening

HOLY ROSARY GRADE 3-6 SWIMMING TRIALS

Well done to our Grade 3 to 6 students who come along to our Holy Rosary Swimming Trials on Wednesday. We certainly had a beautiful morning with nice warm weather and all our students should be proud of their efforts. We now have 25 students who will represent our school at the next stage, the Catholic Swimming Carnival on Wednesday 19th February. Good luck to those students.

CATHOLIC SWIMMING CARNIVAL (Grade 3-6) - Week 4 

Date: Wednesday the 19th of February 

Time: 9:45am - 2pm 

Where: Bendigo East Swimming Pool 

As there is a short turnaround from our trials, students who are successful in representing Holy Rosary will receive a PAM note by Friday the 14th Feb. *Please note, year 3’s are ONLY eligible for 3 individual events- 50m freestyle, breaststroke & backstroke. 

IMPORTANT SPORTS DATES FOR 2025

SWIMMING LESSONS IN 2025

The Grade 3-6 children will have their swimming lessons in week 7 of Term 1. The dates are Tuesday 11th March to Friday 14th March

Foundation – Grade 2 will be in Term 4, week 8, the dates are 24th November to 28th November.

Catholic Swimming Sports (Grade 3-6’s): Wednesday 19th February

*Please note, Grade 3’s are ONLY eligible for 3 individual events- 50m freestyle, breaststroke & backstroke.

Divisional Swimming Championships: Friday 28th February

Regional Swimming Championships (Swan Hill): Tuesday 11th March

State Swimming Championships (Melbourne): Tuesday 29th April

Cross Country:

Holy Rosary Cross Country: Friday 2nd May

Division Cross Country (Year 3-6’s): Friday 16th May

Regional Cross Country (St Arnaud): Tuesday 27th May

State Cross Country (Melbourne): Thursday 24th July

Athletics:

Holy Rosary Athletics Sports: Tuesday 12th August

Catholic Athletics Championships (Grade 3-6’s): Friday 29th  August

*Please note, Grade 3’s are ONLY eligible for 4 events- Shot put, Long jump, 100m & hurdles. 

Divisional Athletics Championships: Monday 15th September

State Athletics Championships: Wednesday 5th November

GRADE 5/6 INTERSCHOOL SPORTS

Students in Grade 5 and 6 will get the opportunity to try out and represent our school at the following sports (with dates) in 2025:

Soccer Carnival (Term 2) - Wednesday 4th June or Thursday 5th June 

Football Carnival (Term 3) - Tuesday 29th July (Girls) and Wednesday 30th July (Boys)

Netball Carnival (Term 3) - Wednesday 6th August

Basketball Carnival (Term 3) - Friday 5th September

Cricket Blast Carnival (Term 4) - Friday 24th October

***All sports we have a girls team and a boys team represent our school.
