Parent Association

On behalf of the Parent’s Association at COHR we would like to say WELCOME to our new families who have joined our wonderful community and WELCOME BACK to our returning families!
I also wanted to welcome and introduce Alicia Michael (Imogen 3/4I) who has stepped into the Vice President role this year. Alicia brings with her an unbridled enthusiasm and a genuine love for the COHR community. We are very lucky to have her on board!
Our Parent’s Association is made up of a group of volunteer parents whose mission is to fundraise for the school and organise fun events for the children and parents throughout the year.

We welcome all parents to come and join in and assist in these events wherever feasible.
PARENTS ASSOCIATION AGM
We will be holding our AGM for 2025 on Wednesday 19 February at 7:30pm in the school staff room and all are welcome to attend. Here we discuss the successes of last year, what’s to come this year and potential roles available for parents who are keen to volunteer. We would love to see new and familiar faces join us for this meeting and fill some roles we have available.
Those roles are:
General Member:
The role of The General Member is to regularly attend meetings of the Association and provide support to the Executive in fulfilling aims and objectives of the Association.
Class Representative/s:
Every class at COHR has two parent Class Representative positions. We are asking parents to please volunteer for roles. The Class Representative role is very important to our school community. It provides support to the teachers and acts as a liaison between teachers and parents in the school. A signup sheet is now in the office.
The role of Class Representatives:
- Be supportive of staff and the whole school ethos.
- Invite parents to include their contact details (ask parents their preferred form of communication) for communication of class messages and events, etc.
- Contact new families on arrival and personally welcome them to the school community
- To organise opportunities for the parents in your child's class to meet socially and help them get to know each other. Events might include family picnics or parents dinners.
- Class Representatives, and other class helpers, are respectful of everyone's privacy and ensures that the confidentiality of teachers, students and parents is maintained at all times.
Other event roles we would love some help with this year are:
- Mother’s Day & Father’s Day stall (Term 2 & 3)
- Bunnings Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser (Date TBC in Term 3)
- Parent’s Trivia Night (Term 2)
- ‘Monty the Monstar’s’ Colour Fun Run (Term 4)
- Hotdog days – Filled by Melissa Fornaro
If you would like to take charge of any of these opportunities, or would like more information on what’s involved, please contact Jess on 0415 320 220.
ICY POLES
Icy poles will be on sale each Friday at lunchtime (Term’s 1 & 4). Icy poles will be sold for $1. This year, we are giving you the option to pre-purchase the icy poles however we are moving to a new platform and this is not available at the moment. We will let you know when prepayments can be made. The children can still purchase with cash on the day if you choose. We offer the icy poles for free in the first and last week of term.
We look forward to another great year at COHR.
