Year 10, 11 & 12

Assistant Principal's Report

As we approach the end of the school year, it’s time to reflect and celebrate all that has been achieved by our students. Whether our students are wrapping up Year 10, forging ahead in Year 11, or finishing Year 12, they’ve shown incredible resilience, determination and growth throughout the year.

To our Year 12 Class of 2024, congratulations on completing 13 years of schooling which certainly is a milestone. As you step into the world beyond school, take pride in how far you’ve come and embrace the opportunities ahead.  Remember, the end of this chapter is just the beginning of an exciting new one. We are so proud of the young adults you have become and can’t wait to hear about your future successes as an alumni of Wyndham Central College.

To our Year 10 and 11 students, well done on another year of hard work and personal growth.   Please use the holidays to recharge, reflect on your progress, and be prepared to return to school ready to take on new challenges. The foundation you’ve built this year will set you up for even greater achievements in the future.

As the holidays begin, I encourage all of you to:

  • Celebrate Your Efforts: You’ve worked hard, take the time to acknowledge your achievements.
  • Recharge and Relax: Enjoy time with family, pursue your interests and take care of your wellbeing.
  • Look Ahead: Set your sights on what’s next and return with a mindset ready to tackle new opportunities.

As parents/carers, your role in your child’s education is vital. Engage in conversations about their progress, interests, and aspirations. Celebrate their achievements and provide a steady source of assistance and encouragement.  Your support during this time is invaluable, celebrate milestones, however small, and remind your child that every effort counts.

Step Up classes have finished.  Please ensure that all holiday homework is completed, work is revised and that all students have all their necessary books, equipment, and uniform in place for the beginning of next year.

It is vital that all students commence on their very first day of school in 2025.

Year 7 and Year 12 students will commence school on Wednesday 29th January 2025.

Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students will commence school on Thursday 30th January 2025.

Thank you to the new Year 12 students who presented speeches to their peers for the role of School Captain/Vice Captain for next year, not an easy task for anyone!

The process involved a written application, a speech on an assembly and an interview with the school leadership team.

I would like to congratulate the following students for being elected to the positions.

School Captains for 2025

Tala Clarete

Alice Di

School Vice Captains for 2025

Nicole Sarmiento

Liam Power

Year 12 results were released by VCAA on Thursday 12 December and students were encouraged to attend the college if they needed any assistance with their future pathways and endeavours.

I hope all Year 12 students achieved their personal best in their studies and final examinations.

To the Class of 2024, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes as you embark on the next chapter of your journey, whether it be further studies, employment or other pursuits. Remember, you will always be part of our college community and if we can ever assist you in the future, please do not hesitate to reach out.

To the parents, carers and families, thank you for your unwavering support. Your encouragement and involvement play a vital role in your child’s success and we deeply value your partnership with Wyndham Central College.

The new Class of 2027 has finished their step up to senior school. Thank you to all students for putting in a huge effort and showing a level of maturity around their new space.

We completed a campaign and voting process for the SRC representative for Year 10. The students were very excited to have our election in the auditorium where students followed the preferential voting system and secret ballot to cast their votes.
