Assistant Principal's Report

What a great year it has been with our year 7’s. This year has been a whirlwind of change, excitement, and new experiences for the students, and we couldn’t be prouder of how all students have approached the year. From their first day of nervous smiles and wide-eyed wonder, to now being confident and capable students, it has been amazing to watch everyone grow. 

 

The end of year 7 is only the beginning! The students have built a strong foundation for the years to come at Wyndham Central College, and I am excited to see what the future holds. With the confidence they’ve gained this year, there’s no doubt all year 7 students will continue to thrive in their academic, personal, and social lives as they move into Year 8.

 

Well done to all students this year, and I look forward to working with you in the years to come. I would like to wish all year 7’s but also all members of the College community a safe and happy Christmas and New Year break and the year 7 2025 team can’t wait to begin working with our new year 7’s next year.

Year Level Leader's Report - Year 7

This year we had 202 students join us at Wyndham Central College to become our Year 12 Class of 2029. I reflect on the year of firsts that we have together. Being the first year of high school for our students, first time completing Healthy Minds training for all of us, first time getting up on stage and running an assembly for our students, first time trying new subjects – these have been a remarkable part of my year and hopefully your children’s as well.

 

As we have already said farewell to our Year 7s, we wish them all the best for Year 8. I would personally like to thank: 

  • Our amazing Tutor Teachers – Ms Sundanum, Ms Butcher, Mr Delos Santos, Ms Siragusano, Ms Stewart, Ms Hills, Mr Anton and Ms Shearer. Without their support, all the Tutor lessons, extra programs and events your children got to participate in would not have run as smoothly as they did.
  • Mrs Hamilton – You have supported the Year 7 staff and students throughout this year. Without your support, we would have crumbled under the pressure.
  • Mr Slater – Thank you for your amazing efforts as Year 7 Coordinator, I am so happy that our Year 7s (soon to be Year 8s) will have a friendly face in the Year 8 Leadership Team to help them next year.
  • Ms Shearer – Thank you for taking on the role part way through the year. You have helped our Year 7 Tutor program grow in such positive ways!
  • Mr Rowe – Thank you for overseeing and supporting all the crazy ideas we come to you with.
  • Our Students – Thank you.  A student has made my day every day, whether it has been from a thank you, holding a door open, having a joke or building up the courage just to say hello.
  • Our Parents – Thank you for the support you have given our school and especially the Year 7 Team. The more we work together the better the outcomes for our students will be.
