WELCOME TO FOUNDATION 2025!

We would like to give a warm welcome to all of our Foundation students and families for 2025! We are so proud and amazed at how the students have settled into the routines and structures of school life over the past week. The students have thoroughly enjoyed going to their Specialist classes and are getting used to all the different classes. They have been very busy getting to know each other, their teachers and their school.

We are encouraging independence in the classroom and recommend that the students carry their own bag into the classroom and unpack their green wallets, drink bottles and lunch boxes themselves.

On our first full day of school, all the student’s gathered in the Gallery and were read the story ‘Where is the Green Sheep’ written by Mem Fox. They found out that the green sheep was missing somewhere around the school! We had to go on am exciting hunt around the whole school to try and find him. There were several clues to find to help us along the way. The student had a great time searching for him and had a tour of the school at the same time. We eventually found him asleep in the Gallery!

Next week we will be sending home the InitiaLit Term One Reading Diaries. These diaries will be kept their Green Wallets. The purpose behind these diaries is to encourage students to read each day - stories can be read by adults, with students joining in if they can. Parents can then note in the Reading Diary each book that has been read. There is also a section for the students to draw their favourite part of a story that was read during the week. We encourage you to read anything you like!

FOUNDATION SPECIALIST TIMETABLE

Our Term One Specialist timetable

When students are participating in Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) it would be best if they were wearing sneakers or shoes that they can move around in. Please note that this timetable can change! We will keep you updated if this occurs.
