Dear Families,

So much to celebrate with our recent NAPLAN results.

Congratulations to our students and staff on these outstanding results. These achievements reflect the dedication and expertise of not only our Year 3 and Year 5 teaching teams, but of teachers across every year level. Together, they have built the strong foundations that enable our students to grow, succeed and embrace new learning with confidence. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you.

Congratulations also to our Boys and Girls Football teams that represented our school so well last week.  The Boys team will continue on to Swan Hill in the coming weeks.

The feedback from staff was excellent, sharing our students school spirit, willingness to take on coaching advice and great sportsmanship.   Thank you to all the parents who braved the fog and chilly conditions.

Today we have had our Senior students again represent our school in Netball at Red Energy Arena.  

Both teams played extremely well throughout the day and finished as runners-up—a very good achievement! Well done to our students for their sportsmanship, teamwork and effort. Thank you to the parents who were able to come along and cheer the teams on and also to our staff in attendance for their organisation, support and coaching throughout the day.

Sensory Supports at School

Dear Parents and Carers,

Recently, we have noticed an increase in the number of fidgets, squishies and similar sensory items being brought to school. While these items are popular, they can sometimes create distractions, lead to disagreements over ownership, and place pressure on children to bring similar items to fit in with their peers.

We are also mindful that not all families can access or purchase these items. We want our school to be a place where every child feels included because of who they are, not because of what they bring to school.

Importantly, sensory tools serve an important purpose for some students. Just as glasses support vision and hearing devices support listening, sensory supports can help children regulate, focus and participate successfully in learning. For these students, sensory tools are not toys but valuable supports that help them access the curriculum and manage their wellbeing.

To maintain a calm and inclusive learning environment, we ask families not to send recreational fidgets and squishies to school. Where sensory supports have been discussed and agreed upon with the school, students should bring only a small number of appropriate items.

Over the coming weeks, we will introduce sensory resource packs that can be accessed by students who require them. This will promote consistency, reduce distractions and ensure students have access to appropriate supports when needed.

Exciting News for 2027 (Repeat)

We are delighted to announce that, following consultation with the School Advisory Council and Catholic Education Sandhurst, our school will expand to four Foundation classes in 2027.

This exciting milestone reflects the overwhelming number of Foundation enrolment applications we have received. It is a wonderful endorsement of our thriving school community, the dedication and professionalism of our staff, the outstanding learning outcomes achieved by our students, and the welcoming, inclusive culture that makes our school such a special place.

As our community continues to grow, families can be assured that our Master Plan has been designed with this growth in mind. It includes staged development of both learning and play spaces, ensuring we continue to provide high-quality facilities while maintaining year-level groupings and ample outdoor play areas for all students.

It is a privilege to lead a school with such a strong reputation, where families are eager to enrol their children and become part of our community. We look forward to welcoming our newest Foundation families in 2027 and continuing to grow together.

Secondhand Uniforms

If you have any school uniforms you no longer need, we would be so grateful if you could donate them to school. The demand is growing. 

School Hours (Repeat)

Please note that the schoolyard is unsupervised before 8:30 am. There are still many children on the grounds prior to this time and there is no teacher on duty.  

For the safety of your children, I ask that they are not dropped off at school before 8:30am.

Mobile Phone and Smartwatch Reminder (Repeat)

A reminder to families that all ‘smart’ devices, including mobile phones and smartwatches, must be handed to teachers first thing in the morning when students arrive at school. These devices are then securely stored for the duration of the school day and returned to students at dismissal time.

This practice supports a focused learning environment and aligns with our school and diocesan policies. We appreciate your ongoing support in reinforcing this expectation with your children.
