Principal's Message

Foundation 100 days of school
Congratulations to all our Foundation students who have made it to 100 days of primary school! It has been a joy to watch our youngest students adapt to school life and thrive in their learning and play. Our celebration last week was delightful, with the entire Foundation cohort dressing up and performing for their families. We are so proud of their efforts, the growth they have made in their learning is remarkable and we cannot wait to see what they achieve for the remainder of the year and beyond.
Character strengths update
We are continuing to roll out the Strength Pathway of the Visible Wellbeing framework, with a particular focus on the character strengths of judgement and humour in the last two weeks. .
As part of this work, staff and students have been practising "strength spotting" — noticing and naming character strengths in ourselves and others as they show up in everyday moments. This might mean recognising when a student shows good judgement by thinking carefully before acting, or when humour helps lighten a difficult situation and bring people together. Strength spotting helps build a shared language around positive qualities, making it easier for students to recognise their own strengths and those of their peers.
Character strengths are the positive traits that shape how we think, feel, and behave — things like kindness, curiosity, and perseverance. Research shows that identifying and using these strengths regularly supports wellbeing, resilience, and stronger relationships, both at school and beyond. We know that as we continue to understand and spot strengths in ourselves and others, our wellbeing improves.
Australian maths comp
This week, students in Grades 3–6 have the opportunity to take part in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), a national contest that challenges students with a mix of problem-solving questions across a range of mathematical topics.
The AMC is a great opportunity for students to test their skills and experience the challenge of working through unfamiliar problems. Building all our students numeracy skills and knowledge is a key priority at BNPS. We are proud of these students for participating and look forward to look forward to celebrating their achievements.
