Sport Wins in SCHS

Senior Girls Badminton Team Goes to States
On June 28 and August 11, the senior girls team competed in WMR and States for badminton. During WMR, we had many successes with countless wins against other schools that allowed us to progress to states. In states, we faced tough competition with competitive schools from the East being in our pool. Although we managed to make it to semi-finals, we lost against MacRob and didn’t manage to proceed to finals this time. Best of luck to all future badminton teams! Let’s bring a win for Suzanne Cory!

Senior Girls and Boys Hockey Takes On WMR
Recently, the senior boys and senior girls competed in the western metro region inter school hockey tournament, putting in an impressive display of teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship.
The boys team made a strong start to the day, securing a dominant 4–0 victory in their opening match before backing it up with a hard-fought 2–1 win in their second game. Despite facing tougher opposition in the later rounds, the team continued to play with determination, narrowly losing their third match before finishing the tournament with a well-earned draw.
Subsequently, the girls put up a strong fight battling it out but unfortunately losing their game for the day. Throughout the competition, every player contributed to the team's success through excellent communication, perseverance and a positive attitude. While the results did not quite secure an overall victory, the tournament was a valuable experience that highlighted the team's growth and commitment.
Furthermore we would like to thank Mr Luci for coaching the boys team this and guiding us through a memorable journey and Mr Touissaint for guiding the girls throughout a memorable season that everyone enjoyed.

Intermediate Table Tennis
On August 3, the intermediate boys table tennis team competed in Eagle Stadium against other schools to advance to the WMR round, which will take place on 27 October. During this first round, we had many successes and fruitful matches, which made SCHS achieve first place and move up to the next round. We approached every match with strategy and support from each other, leading to the favourable end result. We thank Mr Tran for driving, training and supporting us every step of the way, and we will continue to work hard as WMR approaches. Good luck to all our SCHS sport teams!
