Class 2/3 Presenting

"Good Morning and welcome to our assembly.

In class with Nicole, we have been reading a book call Animalia by Graeme Base.

We looked carefully at how the author used alliteration in his writing.  Alliteration is when words close together start with the same sound - like brilliant blue butterflies or slippery silver snakes.

We learnt about alliteration so that over the next few weeks we can use it in out poetry writing so that we can make our writing sound fun and musical when we read out loud!

We chose a letter and wrote our own alliteration sentence in the style of the book.  Then with Kim, we became publishers and illustrators.  We looked at the illustration style in the book and used it to help us create our own artwork to go with our writing.

We also learned some important publishing skills.  We had to think carefully about which font to choose, how big to make it, where to place our words on the page, and whether to orient our paper portrait or landscape to make our piece look its best."

Read by Clover and Layne.
