It was another beautiful autumn day and students were making the most of the weather in the playground today. The weather is forecast to change over the weekend so please ensure your child has a spare change of clothes and some wet weather gear in their bag as we prepare for those accidental trips through the puddles over winter.

With this change in the weather, we are crossing our fingers that we get some good snowfall. If you have a child in Years 3-6 that you would like to participate in our Downhill Snow Program, please provide consent and payment for this on Compass by Monday. Weather permitting, our first ski day will be on Wednesday the 10th June and we need to confirm the number of participants with our lesson providers.

Division Cross Country

Today, 15 of our great runners in Years 3 - 6 represented the school at the Upper Hume Division Cross Country Carnival in Wodonga. Well done to you all! I hope that you all feel proud of your efforts. We look forward to hearing about how you went on Monday.

80s and 90s Dress up Day

Our Student Representative Council have been discussing ways in which we can upgrade some of our play equipment. They are running a dress up day next Friday the 5th June and would like everyone who participates to bring a gold coin donation to kick off the fundraising. The theme is 80s and 90s, so whether you were into Cindy Lauper or Nirvana, its time to dust off those leg warmers and acid-wash denim jeans from the dress up box and see if they fit your children.

Information Session

On Monday morning at 9:10, our school will be hosting visiting families who may be interested in sending their children to our school in the future. This will be a chance for them to see the Prep/1 class in action for some of their morning lessons, have a tour of the school and have conversations with us about what our wonderful school has to offer. The session will be repeated at 5pm on Monday for those families who can't make the earlier session. If you know of someone who these sessions might appeal to, please let them know.

Rhythm2Resilience Drum Circle

Emily has continued to be impressed at the level of conversation and enjoyment as she works with small groups of students in her drum circle groups on Tuesdays. The focus has been on communication, finding commonality and strengthening friendships. This groups of Year 3 girls showed amazing listening skills and responded beautifully to each other through rhythm.

Human Powered Vehicles

On Monday evening, families of several Year 6 students met to discuss their involvement in this year's Energy Breakthrough event in Maryborough in November. After the success of our 2025 Year 6s in their Human Powered Vehicles, plans are underway to field one team in the event this year. If you would like more information, please contact Nicole, Carolyn or Steph at school.

Long Weekend and Pupil Free Day

The long weekend is not far away, and this year it will be extra long!  To align with the secondary college, we will hold a report writing day immediately after the King's Birthday holiday, so Tuesday 9th June will be a pupil free day.  OSHC will run for those families who want to access this service, but bookings are essential.

2026 Fundraising

This term, our school council fundraising committee is planning a ‘High County Winter Experience’ themed raffle.  Our fundraising efforts will go towards upgrading our fleet of student laptops, and you can assist by partnering with a local business to offer a gift voucher in keeping with the Winter Experience theme.

So far our prizes include:

  • An on mountain package with shoulder season accommodation at Astra
  • A Mount Beauty package
  • A 'local's' package with less ski focus and more food / beverage which could also be used in the off season
