The College is incredibly proud of all students who represented CCS at the recent SSV Senior and Intermediate Soccer competition in Traralgon. The College entered a Senior Boys, Senior Girls and Intermediate (Year 9/10) Boys team. What stood out most was their outstanding spirit, behaviour, unity, and pride. From the bus ride to the final whistle, students showed maturity, respect, and strong teamwork, consistently supporting and encouraging one another.
Our Senior Boys competed with great determination in all matches, while the Senior Girls made the most of their opportunity, displaying resilience and team spirit.
The Year 9/10 Boys team were exceptional, demonstrating discipline, organisation, and sportsmanship. They achieved impressive results, with several strong wins throughout the day leading to a total of 19 goals scored, narrowly missing first place by goal difference against an impressive Lavalla team. Despite this, every student represented the school with pride, dignity, and commitment, and they should be congratulated for their efforts and behaviour throughout the day.
A big thank you to Mr Freeman, Mr Bain and Ms McNaughton for their coaching of these teams.

The College wishes to congratulate its Senior Girls (Year 11/12) and Intermediate Boys (Year 9/10) Football teams on progressing through to the SSV State Quarter Finals, following a series of impressive games at the recent SSV Gippsland competition. Hosted at our own College Ovals on May 21 and May 28, both teams went undefeated across their respective days.
Our Senior Girls had wins against Bass Coast Wonthaggi, Nagle College Bairnsdale and Drouin Secondary College. Despite having a few key players out, our team was able to match it with the best from around Gippsland through their determination and discipline.
Best players were Taylah Mizzi, Lucy Hannah, Nat Begovic, Issie Goldsmith, Charlotte Dillow, Charlotte Sage and Shylah Coleman.
Our Intermediate Boys put in an outstanding team performance with many selfless acts, particularly across our backline. All playing important minutes in our wins against Wonthaggi, Bairnsdale and Warragul.

Year 8 Boys, Junior Girls and Senior Boys Football
Wednesday 20 May saw the Year 8 Catholic College Sale Football team compete in the SSV Gippsland Regional football finals at Yinnar. Up against Bass Coast first up, and both teams played a very skillful brand of football in cold and slippery conditions. Unfortunately, CCS went down by four points losing 2.4.16 to 3.2.20. In Game 2, CCS played against a very strong and well-drilled team in Lowanna. CCS was challenged throughout the game, but we never stopped trying, eventually losing the game to Lowanna by 22 points. In the final game CCS played Nagle College Bairnsdale. We played a skillful and fast brand of football with Hudson Cromb combing with Bentley Johnston and Rob Sullivan to set up many scoring opportunities for Cooper Marsden and Brax Wilson. The team would eventually win the last game by 42 points in a great team performance.
Across the day, CCS best players were; Hudson Cromb, Cooper Marsden, Brax Wilson, Bentley Johnston, Sam Gately, Rob Sullivan, Jack Alcock, Jude Dyer and Jensen Vera. We sincerely thank Mr Hogan for his coaching and wonderful mentoring of this team.
Our Year 7/8 Girls and Year 11/12 Boys also made it as far as the Gippsland Region Finals. Our Senior Boys fell just short against an athletics and well-drilled Lowanna College side, while Our Junior Girls managed a win against Nagle College Bairnsdale across their three games.
We thank Mr Butcher, and Mr Hogan for their coaching of these two teams.
