YEAR 2

FROM THE CLASSROOM

This week in Grade 2, we have been very busy with our learning! 

In Maths, we have been practicing measuring length, mass, and capacity using informal units. We really enjoyed the hands-on activities and working together in groups to measure different objects around the classroom and throughout the school. 

In Writing, we are now in the invention phase, where we are using the writing toolkits learnt throughout the term to create our very own narrative stories. Students are applying skills such as using similes, proper nouns, and descriptions of time of day and weather to make their writing more detailed, engaging, and imaginative.

During our wellbeing sessions, we have been learning about teamwork and respect. It was wonderful to see everyone working together to achieve goals and using respectful language with one another. We are very proud of the way we supported our classmates this week!

This week in Inquiry, all Grade 2 classes had the opportunity to participate in a walking excursion around our local community in Clyde North. As part of our inquiry focus on communities, students explored the local park and Shopping Centre while identifying natural and man-made environments and discussing the important role these places play in our community.
