HEALTHY MINDS CHESS TOURNAMENT
Yesterday, Ramlegh Park Primary School was proud to host the Healthy Minds Chess Competition, bringing together students from a variety of local schools for a day of strategic thinking, focus and friendly competition.
The event gave students the opportunity to challenge themselves, connect with peers and put their chess skills to the test in a positive and supportive environment. It was great to see so many young minds concentrating, problem-solving and showing great sportsmanship throughout the day.
We are proud to share that our Ramlegh Park Primary School team placed 3rd out of 15 schools. Thank you to Healthy Minds Chess Academy for coordinating the competition and to everyone who helped support the smooth running of the day.
SUPPORTING NUMBER SENSE AT HOME
At Ramlegh Park, we know that families play an important role in helping children develop confidence with Mathematics.
The Department of Education has shared some helpful videos and tip sheets for parents and carers. These resources show simple ways families can support children to build early number sense at home. Number sense means understanding numbers, counting, comparing, noticing patterns and talking about how numbers work.
The ideas are easy to use in everyday life, such as counting items, looking for numbers around the home, comparing groups of objects, or talking about numbers while shopping, cooking or playing.
FAMILIES CAN ACCESS THE RESOURCES HERE:
We encourage families to take a look and try some of these simple ideas at home. Small moments of learning can make a big difference in helping children feel confident and positive about Mathematics.
