It has been wonderful to welcome back all students and staff to the McAuley Resource Centre. We especially welcome our Year 7s, who spent a lesson with us during orientation. We loved meeting you all. We are looking forward to a productive year working with all our students with the joy of reading and research.

This year, R.A.G.E Book Club is open to all year levels and will take place on Wednesdays at lunchtime in the Fiction Library. Knitting Club will be held on Thursdays at lunchtime in the Fiction Library. Look out for notices in the ‘Daily Messages’ on Compass for more information.
Mondays and Wednesdays after school we host Homework Club.
Tuesdays after school there will be an "Afternoon with VCE English" sessions. Our first session ran on Tuesday, 10 February and was a resounding success for Year 12 students reading and annotating their first text.
Please keep an eye on ‘Daily Messages’ for the session that will be running that week.
Throughout the year we will also celebrate special events. Our first event is ‘Library Lovers’ Day.’ A day celebrated internationally each year on 14 February. It is a day to honour the role that libraries play in our lives.

Year 7 and Year 8 English classes will have one period a cycle in the Fiction Library. We are setting the expectation that every student reads one additional novel across the semester. We will work very closely with each student to help them reach this goal.
The benefits of wide reading include:
The MRC staff are here to help. We understand that getting back into routine can be difficult. Please come and see us if any student needs some extra help.
