YEAR 9

TERM 3

Year 9 Key Information

THIS WEEK: 2

  • During our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lesson this week, students completed their report card trackers. Students reflected on their successes and identified areas for improvement. The report card tracker is useful for engaging in conversations about future pathways and assisting with subject selection.

NEXT WEEK: 3

  •  Next week, at Assembly on Tuesday, we will celebrate students across the College who achieved Academic Excellence in Semester 1. We are very proud of the hard work, perseverance, and grit shown by our Year 9 students who will receive this award!

  • Subject selection for Year 10 will take place in Weeks 4 and 5, and it is important that students make an informed decision regarding their choices and pathways with their parents/carers. Students are encouraged to refer to the subject handbook available on the College website and engage in conversations with teachers. If students or their families have any questions or concerns about subject selection, don't hesitate to get in touch with the relevant Head of Department.

All are welcome to attend.

MyCE APP - PLEASE DOWNLOAD!

The MyCE App is available to all families with students enrolled at any Catholic School within the Catholic Education Dioceses of Cairns. It is the easiest and most efficient way to access information regarding your child/ren and their school-based information.

The functionality is fantastic! As of right now, all St Mary's families can:

Log an absence, view the College events calendar, check your child's daily schedule, access and sign your Parent Slips, receive targeted news feed notifications (that are only relevant to your child,) view and download student reports, access College documents quickly...the list goes on and on!

We encourage all families to download the app as soon as possible, as we are now actively using the platform as a primary communication tool.
