Student Representatives

Rugby Union

We recently had Clara C, Clea P and Isabel M represent our school at the Sydney Rugby 7's trial. This trial would have been very challenging as the girls braved the wet weather.

Athletics

On Monday 12th August we had 35 students represent our school at the Conference 3 Athletics Trial at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Track. This was a huge event with 750 student representatives across the Sutherland and St George networks. Mrs Miller and Miss Devlin were extremely pleased with how all students performed on the day. Here is a summary of some highlights from this event:

Representative Jerseys

This is a friendly reminder for anyone who has any representative at home. We kindly ask for them to be promptly washed and returned to the school office. We do require many jerseys to be provided to our Athletic representatives which is fast approaching. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Interschool Sport

 Tri Tag Rugby

For upcoming interschool gala days on Tri Tag Rugby please watch this  2 minute video which provides you with an overview on how to play. Students will watch this video in class and discuss the rules before attending their allocated gala day.

Please take note that there will be NO LEVEL 1 Stage 3 team for Tri Tag Rugby. There are no progressions for this particular sport.

Why Tri Tag Rugby?

  • Tri Tag Rugby has been specifically designed to complement Rugby’s core fifteen-a-side and seven-a-side formats and provide a softer introduction to the game while still prioritising participant skill development and understanding of Rugby.
  • Not only does Tri Tag Rugby give participants greater flexibility throughout their rugby journey, but also provides a great way for clubs to broaden their participation base and increase retention, as neither age nor physical contact are barriers to entry.

League Tag

Year 4 are the last year group to have their League Tag Gala Day. This will occur on Wed 28th August.

We recently received the exciting news that both our Level 1 boys and girls teams have progressed to the Conference 3 League Tag Championships on Wednesday 23rd October. A Compass Event will shortly be created to seek consent and share all details for this event.

NFL Flag Football

Miss Devlin along with our Stage 3 team attended the NFL Flag Football Championships on Friday 9th August in Paramatta. Well done to Noah VD, Hunter B, Isabel M, Ethan P, James D, Zachary C, Cleo M, Harry M, Byron O, Harlem T and Luca U. The students played so well on the day and displayed great sportsmanship. During our round games we lost 1 and won 3. We finished 4th and beat 1st place in the play offs. We then went into the final hopeful that we could go to the next round but ended up 2nd overall. A huge congratulations to everyone!

Sutherland Basketball

Our Stage 3 girls have finished the last Sutherland Basketball Gala Day for 2024. Thank you Mrs Eadie for her coaching skills and the supervising teachers who guided our teams on the day. Here are some photos of the recent boys and girls gala days.
