Year Two - Spotlight on Learning
Dear Families,
We hope everyone had a restful break. Welcome back to another exciting term in Grade 2! We have lot's of fun things planned for this term and will be getting the students creative sides out in our Integrated curriculum focus on Performing Arts!
Next week we are learning...
Religious Education: The whole school will focus on St Thomas the Apostle and the Year 2’s will also learn about the sacrament of Confirmation as the Year 6’s will complete their sacraments on the weekend.
Mathematics: We are looking at classifying and organising 3D objects. If any students have 3D objects at home (cone, sphere, pyramid, prism, etc) can they please bring these in to share to support our learning.
English: We will be looking at identifying adverbs in their reading and writing. We have been revising the long vowel sounds and the rules for when to use /k/ or /ck/ and /ch/ or /tch/.

Auslan: This week we are learning that in Auslan, we sign ‘open’ or ‘put on’ by showing the action of how it is done. Therefore, the sign for ‘open’ is different, depending on what it is you are opening. And you guessed it, the sign for ‘put on’ is different, depending on what it is that is being put on.
Social/Emotional Learning & RRRR: This term we are learning about gender identity and specifically the different roles and occupations associated with the genders.
