Principals Report
Dear Berwick Chase Community,
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for being such a wonderfully supportive community. Recently, I had the pleasure of traveling to the beautiful island of Bali with family and friends. The culture, environment, and especially the weather were delightful, making it a truly memorable experience.
During our stay in Seminyak, I had the unique opportunity to speak with a local teacher about the education system there. It was fascinating to discuss both the similarities and differences between our two schooling systems. In Bali, primary school students start their day at 7:30 am and finish by noon. After school, many children head off to help in their family businesses. Unlike our schools, where technology plays a significant role, the schools in Bali have a much lower reliance on technology due to its high cost, which makes it out of reach for many. It was also interesting to note, the pride students and families take in their school uniforms, with many arriving at school on motor scooters, sometimes with as many as five passengers!
This experience made me reflect on how fortunate we are at Berwick Chase. We are blessed with a well-resourced and respected school community. Our dedicated teachers, enthusiastic students, and supportive parents work together to create an environment where everyone can thrive. I was particularly touched when sharing photos of 'The Chase' with my new Indonesian friend. The comments from parents, highlighting the many wonderful aspects of our school, filled me with pride. It was a reminder of the strong sense of community we have built together.
As we continue our journey at Berwick Chase, I want to thank all the parents, students, and staff for your ongoing efforts in making our school a safe, supportive, and inclusive place. We are committed to challenging our students academically while ensuring they feel valued and supported in every aspect of their school life.
Your partnership and dedication are key to our success, and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the future.
Warm regards,
Chris Short
