18th July - I had the pleasure of Miss Charlotte’s company and 23 Year 10 students when the City of Kingston Youth workers supported Beacon Foundation “Work Readiness” program.

22nd July – Our Year 10 students travelled to the city on their own to undertake Beacon Foundation “Work Readiness” program at Clayton UTZ where their Mentors were Lawyers and Paralegals.  The students asked insightful questions and held discussions about their future pathways.  I thank Miss Collins for her assistance.

23rd July  – On this day I had the pleasure of Mrs Mokasolia KOKA’s and Year 10 students – Pathways and Mainstream when 26 students visited Cummins in Scoresby - another Beacon Foundation “Work Readiness” program.  Our students were very impressed by the various positions their Mentors spoke about and supported them in finding out their future pathways based on their skills and interests.  We were given the perfect industry tour of a multinational organisation.

25th July - Our last group of Year 10 students visited AON in Melbourne with Mr. Udara.  Our students were remarkable in getting to the city by public transport and impressed the panel of Insurance Brokers, Lawyers and Paralegals with their questions and discussions about their future pathways.

Thank you to our Education Support Staff Ms. Barb and Mrs Vicky for all their support in chasing up excursion notes. These ladies are the movers and shakers.

On 31st July our Year 12 VCE cohort have had Kristie from ACCESS Monash facilitate a lively workshop on applying to VTAC in order to gain entry into University or TAFE on completion of Year 12.

16th August Our Food Studies Teacher Miss Donna Yuan and I accompanied our students to Goodman Fielder our friendly baker in Clayton South.  Our students went through the whole bread making process under the able guidance of Fran, Michelle and Phil.  We sincerely thank GF for their contribution of bread for our Sports Day on 8th August.  Like the saying goes, “there’s nothing like sliced bread”.
