Mr Sean Weston and Mr Kristian Gro

Here is what's happening in Sports!

Report from Kristian Gropel

Being halfway through Term 3, heaps of things are going on! So far, we have had our Year 7 and Year 8 Weekly Sports, which include our Basketball Boys and Girls Team, Year 7 Futsal Team, and Table Tennis Teams. Although our teams did not have the results they wanted, all the students have been playing hard and having fun.  We have seen our Year 7 girls, 8 boys, intermediate girls and senior boys all make it through to SMR for badminton so far this term, which is a great achievement!

Athletic Carnival Winner

On the 8th of August, we hosted our annual Athletics Carnival at Ross Reserve. It was a great day full of events and competitions, where we saw some cosplay and costumes, a day where students enjoyed and had fun. The whole day ran smoothly, as the weather held back for the whole day despite being in the middle of winter.

Our Year 11 VM students ran a BBQ for staff and students and raised over $900 which has gone towards funding the day. Well done to all the students in Year 11 PDS2B.

With many students participating and earning points for their respective houses, the results are as follows. This also follows an increase of 30% more participation than the previous year! Great work everyone! Hopefully, next year, even more students will engage in the events throughout the day.

In fifth place on 286 points, we had WELC🏅In fourth place on 717 points, we had Gordon🏅In third place on 809 points, we had Lawson 🥉In second place on 1027 points, we had Paterson🥈In first place, with a whopping 1041 points, we have Dennis🥇

Also, thank you to all the staff and students for attending and helping organise and run the event.

I-Create Sport- Monash University

Westall SC has partnered with Monash University to offer our students with the opportunity to use and play on their top-notch sporting facilities.

During terms 3 and 4, students from years 7-10 in the I-CREATE SPORT program have had the exciting opportunity to visit Monash University every Wednesday afternoon. They have been making full use of the badminton courts, squash courts, and futsal and soccer ovals. I-create sport students this term who selected badminton or futsal, visit Monash University Clayton campus to work on skills and knowledge of the sport.

The students have been on their best behaviour and really making the most of the time at Monash.
