iCreate Visual Arts and Media Excursion to NGV International and ACMI

Our iCreate Visual Arts and Media students recently embarked on an inspiring excursion to NGV International and ACMI, where they had the opportunity to immerse themselves in cutting-edge art and media experiences.

At ACMI, students explored two captivating exhibitions: "Beings" and "The Story of the Moving Image." The "Beings" exhibition invited them into a world of interactive digital art, where their own movements brought robotic reflections to life, vibrant ecosystems bloomed, and characters evolved in mesmerizing ways. Through engaging with the installations, students not only became part of the artwork but also gained insights into the creative processes behind these digital marvels.

The excursion to NGV International and ACMI was a memorable and enriching experience, leaving our students with a deeper appreciation for the dynamic world of contemporary art and media.

Westall Secondary students joined Strathmore Secondary College in a workshop with the incredible Vera Moller, former Marine Biologist, now a renowned German-Australian artist. The students listened to Vera Moller’s journey as an artist who focus primarily on marine life in the Mornington Peninsula area. Her intricate sculptures captured shape, form and colourful organisms of the deep blue sea. Vera Moller works with a wide range of media, these include collage, paper magic clay, ceramics, drawing and painting.
