Year 3 & 4 Papier-Mâché Project

The students in Years 3 and 4 have been exploring the world of sculpture through an exciting papier-mâché project inspired by Barbara Kobylinska—an artist known for her playful and imaginative ceramic and mixed-media creations. Drawing inspiration from her abstract interpretations of birds, the students have been designing their own fantastical creatures. Along the way, they’ve developed their understanding of key visual art elements including shape, form, and texture. This hands-on project has encouraged creativity, curiosity, and joyful self-expression, making for a lively and imaginative artistic journey.

Year 5 Community Engagement Project

Year 5 students recently visited Sunnyside Kindergarten, a place that holds special significance for many in our school community. It was a heartwarming experience as the students and kindergarteners came together for a collaborative art activity. The visits beautifully highlighted the importance and benefits of community engagement, showing how art can unite, foster empathy, and create a sense of belonging.

Year 4 ANZAC Day Artwork

To mark ANZAC Day, our Year 4 students collaborated on a powerful and eye-catching art display featuring vibrant poppies created with oil pastels. Each student contributed a uniquely designed poppy as a symbol of remembrance, respect, and gratitude for those who have served. This commemorative project also allowed students to explore a range of visual art techniques. They experimented with colour blending, contrast, and pastel layering to create texture and depth, while also considering how warm and cool tones can influence emotion and focus in art. You can view this striking display in the hallway beside the Hall.
