TERM 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Physical Education

This term, students have participated in a Rugby program focused on gross- motor skills. turn-taking, and teamwork, Using adapted equipment and visual supports, students explored passing and running through games and movement routines. The smiles, cheers and Hi-5's say it all!

English

In our English sessions, students have engaged in multi-sensory Phonics learning, shared and guided-reading experiences, and supported writing using the evidence- based program of Colourful Semantics, tracing and handwriting. The students were super excited on Phonics Day this term dressed up in their favourite animals!

Mathematics

Mathematics learning this term has been centered around additive thinking by exploring addition and subtraction through tactile experiences and the use of various methods. We celebrated each small or big step, from creating patterns and using strategies like mini whiteboards to show learning.

Integrated Unit - Into the Wild

Students explored animals and their habitats through stories, sensory play, and hands-on discovery. Students investigated how animals survive in their environments through visual activities.

REMINDERS

• Week 2-3 Swimming Program: Consent on Compass sent.
• Change of clothes: Ensure all students have a change of clothes in their bags and return the school’s spare clothes when possible.
• School arrival: Class begins at 9:00am and finished at 3:00pm. Arriving late consistently can affect student and classroom learning significantly. If you require support, please contact your teacher or the school.
