Rest In Eternal Peace
With deep sorrow we morn the passing of Pope Francis, Our Holy Father and faithful shepherd of the Catholic Church.
A man of humility, the Pope inspired millions of people world wide to live with compassion and courage. Pope Francis led the Church with a heart for the poor and marginalised, with a call for mercy, and a deep love for Christ.
How fortunate have we been to have Pope Francis lead us over these past years. A true pilgrim of hope throughout his papacy. His ability to touch our hearts with simple yet profound acts of kindness, his ability to truly listen to understand and communicate a social justice and environmental message that powerfully resonated with all walks of life made him the 'Peoples Pope'. We give thanks for his tireless witness to the Gospel and his example of servant leadership. We unite in prayer.
Eternal rest grant him, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace in God's love.
St Francis de Sales school community gathered on Tuesday 22 April at 10:30am in the hall to pray for our beloved Pope Francis.
Pope Francis's legacy to walk as a humble shepherd of Christ will continue to guide and inspire our work at St Francis de Sales and have an impact across all Catholic schools, shaping the hearts and minds of students and adults of diverse faiths for generations to come. We pray that his light and joyous ministry will be amplified in all of us and continue to radiate in our world.
Rest in God’s love, our beautiful, special Pope Francis. We pray that the cardinals meeting in the conclave will be moved by the Holy Spirit and in the coming days be able to announce a Pope for our times that can be a beacon of light and meaningfully amplify the the call of the Gospel.
Mary, our blessed Mother of God, pray for him.
St Francis of Assisi, pray for him.
St Francis de Sales, pray for him.
All Holy Men and Women, Saints of God, pray for him
He has Risen!
Happy Easter to all our Families
ANZAC Day - We Remember
Anzac Day falls on the 25th of April each year. The 25th of April was officially named Anzac Day in 1916. On the 25th of April 1915, Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula. These became known as Anzacs and the pride they took in that name continues to this day. The meaning of Anzac Day today includes the remembrance of all Australians killed in military operations.
At St Francis de Sales we gathered to pray for peace and remember all soldiers killed in military service.
