Pedal Prix
On Friday, 13th June, ten students in Years Five and Six attended the Pedal Prix event at Victoria Park. The course was 1.1 km long around Victoria Park, with a total duration of five hours. The race consisted of primary school-aged children and an Under 13 girls category. A total of 37 teams competed during the day. All students had four separate turns on the school bike and spent the rest of the time in pit lane playing games or cheering on their peers. Over the day, students completed 77 laps, covering a total distance of approximately 85 km. Well done to all students who competed on the day.
I would also like to mention a few people who made this day possible. Thank you to the Kiessling family, who spent the past month repairing the trailer for the bikes and organising the sponsor stickers to go onto the trailer. Please check out the trailer in the photos below; it looks amazing. A big thank you to Ian Bourne and William Brodie Tyrell for their work on the car, getting it ready to compete. Thank you to our sponsors: Colony Homes (Johansen family), Imagine Uraidla, Ashton Valley Juicery, parents and friends, Adelaide Steel Frame Windows, and Yureidla E-Bike Solutions. Your time and financial support made this event happen.
Finally, to Seb Geers, who has worked tirelessly organising registration, scrutineer checks on the bike, coordinating training, and assisting with the bikes, and so much more. We are grateful for getting this up and running again and hope this is something we can continue for many years to come.
The team for 2026 is already looking for sponsors to upgrade the bikes that we currently have, so if you know anyone who may be able to provide sponsorship, please let us know.
