Physical Education

Hi Families and Friends… here we are. Sitting comfortably at the end of week 6, slowly yet quickly approaching the end of another term. This term has had a real sports focus (which you might think is what I always say) with Hanging Rock Cross Country and the running events that followed and our Year 6s playing in the COBAW Footy and Netball comp. Firstly, our runners did so well with the three stand outs being Kaylee getting to the Districts, Ayla getting to Regionals and Emma running her way to the State Championships in July. We are all so proud of these amazing athletes, both their abilities and attitudes are to be admired.
Our Year 6s played in the Winter Sports carnival, entering a Mixed Football team and a Mixed Netball Team. Both teams put in a brilliant effort on the day with the netball team progressing to the District event in late June.
Back to the land of PE, we have had an Athletics focus this term. With our year 3-6 school athletics carnival coming up in week 10, the students are out there running, jumping and throwing. It’s always fun teaching Athletics and watching the kids not only improve and challenge themselves but have a laugh and loads of fun at the same time.
The Preps finished their Gymnastics unit which was so fun and a little crazy at times! We’re going to spend the rest of the term focusing on balance, ball skills and teamwork.
All classes are almost mid-way through our Health classes where the focus has been on Positive Gender Relationships and including and respecting all people for their choices and identity. I am so proud of all the students for their respect, contributions, positivity and kindness during these sessions.
Have a great week everyone!
