St Louis de Montfort is Celebrating 60 years

Good afternoon families,

This week we were sadden to hear of the passing of Pope Francis. A shepherd with a heart for the lost, a voice for the marginalised, and a tireless advocate for a missionary Church, Pope Francis dedicated his life to making the love of Christ known to all. Please remember Pope Francis in your prayers.

Our first week back for Term 2 was a lot of fun and the weather was fabulous for the senior athletic carnival and the cross country carnival. Thank you to all the parents who were able to come along to support these events.

ANZAC Day

Today the four school captain and myself attend the ANZAC march in Chelsea today. Thank you to the school captains' parents for their support.

The Ode :- For The Fallen

They shall not grow old, As we grow old,

Age shall not weary them, Nor the years condemn,

At the going down of the sun, And in the morning

We will remember them. Lest we forget.

Loving God,

We pray for all who demonstrate love and peace in our world.

May we learn from the past and strive to spread the message of Jesus' love throughout

our earth. We ask for the gift of peace in the depth of our heart, through Jesus Christ. Amen

Easter liturgy

On Monday afternoon the whole school participatein an Easter liturgy. We celebrated the Risen Lord and the joy of the sacred Paschal Triduum, the 3 day centrepiece of the Liturgical Year. it begins with the week-long celebration of the Octave ( 8 days) of Easter and concludes with Pentecost Sunday. Thank you to Mrs Douglas for organising this liturgy.

Senior Athletics

This is a great event on the school calendar. The students loved participating in all the track and field events and are often surprised with what they can achieve when given the opportunity to try something new. Thank you to Mr Andrew for organising this event and to the staff for their support.

St Louis' Feast Day/ cross country and sausage sizzle

Yesterday, we celebrated St Louis' feast day, which actually falls on Monday 28 April. We started the day with a whole school mass celebrated by Father Andrew.

We then had our cross country carnival and it was a great event for everyone. Thank you to Father Andrew and Mrs Douglas for the beautiful mass we celebrated. Thank you to Mr Andrew and staff for all the work put into making this carnival a success again. Thank you to the parents who were able to help us marshall the event.
