..... the back page.......

Hi all

In our first week back we ran two very big sports events - the school athletics and the cross country.  It was a short week with much on.  Now we can settle into term 2 with "normal" five day weeks.

The St Louis Athletics Carnival is an all day event at Dolamore Reserve.  All of our 300 plus Year 3 to year 6 students get to participate in the 100m, 200m, shot put, discus, high jump, long jump and hurdles.  It's a massive program and if it wasn't for our volunteers I'm not sure we could have got it done.  Thank you very much to our volunteers that raked sand, fetched shot puts, gave out ribbons, put on bandaids (bloody hurdles) and more.

The following day we had every students participate in a series of 12 cross country races, involving every single St Louis student.  There were cheers and tears and even a couple of spews!   They should all sleep well Thursday night.

Again, if it wasn't for the support of the volunteers, the event could of not of happened.  Thank you for standing out there in the wetlands keeping our kids encouraged and motivated to keep on running.

Our parents are our school's "one wood".  We always seem to have these incredible people step up for our sports events and make these events what they are - successful, safe, sporting opportunities that allow our kids to thrive.  We understand not everyone can get there and that's Ok.  I see plenty St Louis parents coaching, managing, training and working on the committees on the side lines on weekends, before and after school.

You're all legends and thank you for what you do!

Yours in Sport
