Humanities Staff Professional Development

Acknowledging dedication: Our Humanities Team's commitment to Professional Development

In the ever-evolving landscape of education, the dedicated staff at our School continually strive for excellence. During this term break, our Humanities Department demonstrated their unwavering commitment to providing our students with the best possible education by participating in a Professional Development workshop. As I reflect on their tireless efforts, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude. These educators understand that staying current with pedagogical advancements is crucial to nurturing our students' growth. By taking the time during their break to enhance their skills, they exemplify the passion that fuels their teaching.

During the workshop, we had the privilege of learning from Jinari Mountain. Her expertise in assessment has illuminated our path toward improvement. With her guidance, our teachers are now equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to assess our students' progress more effectively, ensuring they receive the tailored support they require.

We also owe our gratitude to Kiera Davidson for her leadership in The Writing Revolution (TWR) workshop. Her insights into embedding TWR skills into our Humanities lessons have been invaluable. Through her guidance, our educators are now better equipped to explicitly teach writing skills and knowledge, fostering a culture of academic rigour in our classrooms.

At the heart of our efforts is the commitment to empower our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. The dedication of our Humanities staff to Professional Development is a testament to their unwavering belief in our students' potential.

As we move forward, we are excited about the positive impact these workshops will have on our students' learning experiences. Our Humanities Department's commitment to continuous improvement will ensure that our School remains a place where students are not just educated, but empowered to excel and pursue academic excellence.

Once again, I would like to acknowledge and sincerely thank the remarkable Humanities team for their dedication, and I look forward to witnessing the positive outcomes of their efforts on our students.
