Dear parents/carers/guardians, students, and staff,
As we bid farewell to another remarkable term, it is with immense pride and joy that I reflect upon the countless achievements and successes of our students. The dedication, talent, and enthusiasm displayed by our school community over the past weeks have truly been exceptional.
A Dramatic Triumph: 'The Pot, Like Gravy, Thickens'
One of the highlights of this term was undoubtedly the outstanding performance by our Drama Club in 'The Pot, Like Gravy, Thickens' held in our very own theatre on Thursday, 7th September. It fills me with immense pride to acknowledge the remarkable efforts of our Drama Club, a creation of this year, spearheaded by our passionate students, led by Finlay H, and guided by our incredibly talented teachers, Ms. Molly Pethick and Ms. Aysha McCoy.
The Ice Bucket Challenge for a Cause (see below for photos)
On Wednesday, 30th August, our students embarked on an exciting venture by running 'The Ice Bucket Challenge,' raising funds for the MND (Motor Neuron Disease) Foundation. My heartfelt congratulations go out to our student leaders who organised this event, and my gratitude extends to our dedicated staff who volunteered to take the plunge. Their commitment to making a difference in our community is truly commendable.
Harmonious Notes at the Spring Concert
Thursday 31st August, witnessed the harmonious melodies of our Spring Concert, where our music students showcased their exceptional talents. The unwavering dedication and hard work of our music students continue to amaze me, and their performances are a testament to their remarkable skills. I am immensely proud of each student who participated and the tireless efforts of our music department.
Debutante Ball: A Night of Elegance and Grace
Friday 8th September, marked the enchanting Debutante Ball held at the Freccia Azzurra club in Braeside. Our students graced the occasion with elegance and poise, a true reflection of their commitment to learning their dances and performing flawlessly. My sincere appreciation goes out to all those involved in organising and supervising this memorable event.
Embarking on a Cosmic Journey: NASA Space Camp
Next week, we will witness the culmination of a remarkable opportunity as 13 of our students embark on a cosmic adventure to the United States for our NASA Space Camp. In partnership with four other local schools, our students will immerse themselves in the world of NASA scientists, where they will tackle challenges and create innovative solutions. A special thank you to Mr. Jason Galle and Mrs. Ros Patti, who will accompany our students on this incredible journey.
In conclusion, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every member of our school community for making this term exceptional. For our Year 12 students, I urge you to make the most of this holiday period as you prepare for your final exams. To all others, take this time to rest and rejuvenate, as we eagerly await your return on 2nd October for Term 4.
Wishing you all a restful break and looking forward to many more achievements in the coming term.
Warm regards,
Evan Miller
