Our Catholic Identity

First Holy Communion

Congratulations to the 14 students who received their First Holy Communion on Sunday. We hope and pray that they continue their journey of faith and receive Holy Communion many, many more times throughout their time at Primary School and beyond. Students were praised for their reverence and articulating the Word of God. We thank the Year 3 teachers and parents for preparing the students so well for this significant day in their lives.

On Sunday evening Mass, Father Brian shared the story of St. Pius X in his advocacy for children being able to receive Communion. Before then, children were unable to receive Communion until they were above 12. St. Pius X encourages all of us to receive Communion as often as possible.

The last of our Year 3 students will be receiving Holy Communion for the first time on Sunday September 17 at 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. We continue to pray for them and their families. Thank you to the students and families who have volunteered to have an active role in these Masses. If you or your child would like to read or participate in the offertory, please inform the school office.

Christmas Story Art Competition

Congratulations to the following Year 5 and 6 students who have been selected to represent our school in the Christmas Story Art Exhibition and Competition. Their artworks will now be judged against other entries from across our Diocese, and those who are successful will have their artworks displayed in Wollongong Art Gallery from Wednesday 11 October. We express our gratitude to Mrs Mel Brooks and the Stage 3 teachers for their dedication, expertise and support of these students.

We wish them the best of luck!

St Francis of Assisi Liturgy : Wednesday 11 October at 9:30am

Being so close to the coastline, at St Joseph’s Bulli, we pride ourselves in taking extra steps to care for our Common Home- God’s Creation. We are now in the Season of Creation, inspired by St Francis’ encyclical ‘Laudato si’. The Season concludes on the Feast of St Francis of Assisi (October 4). As this is the school holidays, we are joining together as a Catholic School Community on Wednesday 11 October 2023 at 9:30 am in the church. Parents, Parishioners and family members are most welcome to attend this Liturgy.

Spring Fair- Mini Vinnies

We are all extremely excited for our Spring Fair on Saturday. One group that has been enthusiastically preparing is the Mini-Vinnies team. Mini Vinnies empowers Year 6 Primary School students to become advocates within their school and local community by putting Vinnies Values into action. They meet regularly to learn about social justice issues, develop leadership skills and engage with the local community. Keep an eye out for their stall and for Mrs Parker on Saturday to see some of their wonderful creations. The students have spent several terms making a variety of items to sell. All money raised at the Mini Vinnies stall goes directly to our local St Vincent de Paul chapter to help local people in need.
