Principal's Report

Dear BEPS community,

We appreciated having many visitors to our school last Thursday for Education Week. Students enjoyed sharing their work and their learning with family and our community.

We thank everyone for making the time to visit our school.

Last Tuesday, our school hosted 28 delegates from Jiangsu China who were provided with an opportunity to tour our school, observe our classrooms in action and listen to our school leaders talk about our school curriculum, assessment, wellbeing and technology.

The delegation regularly commented on the positive behaviour that enables learning in each of the classrooms, the high-quality teaching practices they observed and the buildings and grounds that support play and student friendship groups.

All children deserve a healthy smile, and it was wonderful to have the Smile Squad at Burwood East Primary School over the past month helping to make sure that this happens. The friendly Smile Squad dental team conducted a free annual dental health examination for many students and will provide follow up treatments as needed.

Smile Squad is a Victorian Government program that provides free dental care to all Victorian Government primary and secondary school students.

On Wednesday, Sienna, Paige, Max, Rainer, Axel, Riva, Grace, Iris, Jayden, Isabella, Silvia, Advay and Justin headed off to the Divisional Cross Country. The track was heavy and conditions cold, but the students were enthusiastic and up for the challenge.

Each age group had around 80 runners, with the top 12 runners eligible to go through to the next level.

As always BEPS student gave their best and achieved some terrific results.

Celebrating Student Success

Congratulations to Eli, who was part of the Under 10 D Boys Basketball team for Knox, winning the premiership. Eli scored 10 points on the day.

Congratulations to Advay who came second in his age group at the Divisional Cross Country. This was a sensational performance.
