This Week - Learning in Year 1

In maths, year 1 students have been practicing skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s. They have made ice cream cones to help them skip count by 10.

In reading, they have been practicing fluency, not being too fast and not being too slow.

In phonics the year 1’s are learning the sounds the vowels make when they add letters. They add letters on the whiteboards and then say them.

In writing, year 1’s are learning how to write information reports. They include habitat, diet, and appearance. 

For reconciliation week year 1’s made a big collaborative art piece.
