Year 2

What a wonderful few weeks we’ve had in Grade 2!
Our students have been thoroughly enjoying Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl. They’ve laughed at the clever tricks of Mr. Fox and have loved discussing the different characters and their actions. Seeing their excitement and engagement during reading time has been such a joy!
In Maths, we’ve been working hard on addition and subtraction strategies, and students have had the chance to apply their thinking in hands-on activities, especially in our unit on length. From measuring classroom items to estimating and comparing, students build strong connections between numbers and real-world applications.
In Wellbeing, we’ve been building our Ready to Learn plans! As classes, we’ve created strategies to support our 'Ready to Learn' scales, helping us to notice how we’re feeling and what we can do to get back to a calm, focused place. It's been wonderful to see students using breathing tools, movement breaks, and positive self-talk to support themselves and one another.
And finally, we’re counting down the days until our excursion to Puffing Billy next Thursday! The teachers are just as excited as the students and can’t wait to enjoy this special day together.
Stay tuned for photos and stories from our adventure!
