Dear Kinross Wolaroi Families,
As we pass the midpoint of Term 2, it’s been wonderful to see students embracing the crisp Orange weather in true KWS fashion. Whether it’s the iconic woollen blue jumpers, reliable japaras, or snug scarves, everyone has been keeping warm while diving into school life with spirit and enthusiasm.
The past few weeks have been rich with activity and community involvement. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our recent bake sales—particularly Richards House, who raised funds for Mobilise, an Australian charity working on innovative solutions to support those experiencing homelessness. The energy, generosity, and compassion shown by students and staff alike have been truly inspiring.
We were also honoured to welcome our 50-year alumni back to campus for a special assembly and luncheon. The day was filled with connection, laughter, and reflection. Our school leaders had the privilege of hearing stories from the past, sharing experiences, and celebrating the unique and lasting legacy of Kinross Wolaroi — from the boarding houses to the classrooms.
On the sporting front, congratulations to the Kinross Wolaroi Girls 1st rugby team on a thrilling win against Canberra rivals, the Vikings. This hard-fought victory keeps them undefeated this season and is a testament to their grit, teamwork, and unwavering determination.
Meanwhile, preparations for our school musical Aladdin are well underway! Sunday rehearsals have brought vibrant energy to campus as the cast and crew work hard to bring this magical production to life. With so much talent and commitment on display, it's sure to be a show to remember.
As we head into the long weekend, we encourage everyone to take time to rest and recharge. We look forward to seeing you all back at school refreshed and ready to finish the term on a high note.
Warm regards,
Xanthe and Ollie
