Student Activities

Encompass

PRC students recently demonstrated their incredible community spirit by volunteering their time and energy at Encompass Care in Bundoora. Accompanied by Education Support Staff member, Wilson, a group of students spent a few hours of the day contributing to a vital donation project.

Our students enthusiastically tackled tasks including grocery packaging and general clean-up, ensuring that essential supplies were ready to be distributed to those in need. It was a fantastic opportunity for our young people to experience the power of giving back and understand the practical efforts involved in supporting community welfare initiatives.

“It was inspiring to see the students so engaged and committed to helping out," was among the feedback we got from the encounter care team.

Indeed, they worked hard, showed great teamwork, and really made a difference in preparing these donations for the community. It's experiences like these that truly enrich their learning beyond the classroom.

Reclink

Encouraging Active Lifestyles, Teamwork, and Lifelong Learning

On Thursday afternoons, students who have elected to participate in the Reclink elective, head off-campus via the school bus to take part in a variety of recreational activities, including basketball, tennis, and volleyball at Epping Leisure Centre, as well as tenpin bowling at Wyncity Keon Park.

These experiences offer more than just a chance to get moving, they also provide a fun and inclusive environment where students can challenge themselves, make social connections, discover new skills, build confidence and take a break from the traditional classroom setting.

As Term Two continues, we are proud of the energy, enthusiasm, and commitment our students bring to the Reclink program each week. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow, learn, and thrive—both on and off the court!

Bunnings

Orange Class

On the 16th of May 2025, Orange class had their turn at raising funds for Homelessness by selling sausages from the first customer at around 9:45am. Customers kept coming right up until the last customer at 4:30pm.

Each student was designated a time throughout the day to come and prepare, serve and sell as many sausages as possible. One student worked through almost two 2-hour shifts helping to sell almost 160 sausages for the day.

Each student worked extremely hard, and staff were very pleased with their efforts. Bunnings is a great way for the students to learn the necessary skills to be successful in the workforce while getting out into the community and supporting a noble cause.

Well done to Orange Group for putting in the hard work and helping to raise awareness and funds to help those who are in need!

Blue Class

It has been a pleasure to see our young people engaging in community engagement via the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle. The opportunity that Bunnings has provided for our student enabled them to develop and hone their customer service skills, money handling and finance recording. It’s been a privilege to witness our students take part in a classic piece of Australian culture — the iconic Bunnings Sausage Sizzle.
