VET

Term 2 has seen our VET students continue to make excellent progress in their Certificate II in Community Services. As always, our focus has been on developing students’ practical skills and personal growth, giving them meaningful opportunities to apply their learning in real-world settings.

Students have completed Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) testing, an important step in identifying individual learning needs and tailoring support strategies to ensure every student is equipped to successfully complete the course.

In support of their involvement in the Bunnings BBQ, students undertook a Food Handling Course. This training ensures they have the necessary skills to safely manage and serve food, while also strengthening their employability.

This term also introduced a new unit: Read and Respond to Routine Workplace Information. This unit helps students develop the ability to interpret and respond to workplace communications—such as instruction manuals, reports, emails, brochures, and policies—whether in print or digital formats. These skills are essential for navigating modern workplaces effectively and confidently.

Beyond the classroom, our students continue to give back through their volunteer work at Encompass Care. This experience not only fosters personal development and community connection, but also builds vital soft skills like teamwork, empathy, and communication.

We’re proud of our VET students’ achievements so far and look forward to seeing their continued growth and contributions as the term progresses.
