THE VILLAGE

The Village: Supporting Student Wellbeing Together
As we wrap up the year, this final edition of The Village is a chance to pause, look back, and recognise the incredible efforts of our students, staff, and families. Throughout 2025, The Village has helped us stay connected as a community while exploring important topics that support the wellbeing of our young people — from behaviour, kindness and connection, to online safety and adolescence.
A major focus in recent weeks has been the new social media age restrictions, which officially came into effect two days ago. We appreciate the way our families and students have engaged with this change, accessed information from the eSafety Commissioner, and begun adjusting digital habits at home. Behaviour change takes time, patience and support. Attached to this article is some more resources provided by our Nurse Anna on the Social Media Ban which came into effect on December the 10th.
Most importantly, we want to acknowledge the incredible work of our students this year. Whether through leadership, positive behaviour, academic growth, participation in programs like QUANTUM, or the countless everyday kindnesses that strengthen our school culture, our young people have stepped up in ways that make us proud. Their resilience, curiosity, and community spirit are at the core of what makes Korumburra Secondary College such a special place.
To our families and wider community: thank you. Your ongoing support and engagement have helped make 2025 a year of genuine progress and connection. We look forward to returning with more editions of The Village in 2026 — continuing to strengthen the partnership between home and school.
Wishing everyone a safe, restful and fun break.
