From the Year Prep Classroom

10 days to go… but who’s counting!

What an incredible term we’ve had! It’s hard to believe we’re almost at the end of our Preppies’ very first year of Primary School. It’s a little bittersweet, but oh how ready they are for Year 1! We couldn’t be more proud of the confidence, kindness, and resilience they’ve shown as they’ve grown throughout the year.

A Special Farewell

We are sad to share that Mrs Mestrom will be finishing up with us at the end of this year. For those who may not know, she is moving on, taking on a Prep role at Yarrawonga P-12. We will miss her dearly, her warmth, laughter, and gentle guidance have touched so many little hearts. We hope she pops back to visit us (and if not, we’re sure we’ll spot her around town enjoying her new chapter!). We wish her every success and thank her for all she has given to our Prep community.

Kris Kringle

Our Kris Kringle names went home on Monday so hopefully you’ve all received yours. Once the children have their gift ready, they can sneak it into the class KK box near our Christmas Tree, tucked safely under Grandma’s Quilt (a beautiful handmade treasure lovingly stitched by Mrs. Goldman’s mum for her grandkids). It’s already adding so much warmth to our classroom!

A special morning tea for all of us! – Thursday 11th at 10am

You should have received your Morning Tea invitation! This will be a lovely chance to pause, celebrate, and reflect on a wonderful year together. Student journals will be going home on this day, and reports will be available on SIMON. If you have any questions at all, in regard to your child’s report or journal, please come and chat with us, we’re always here to help.

Library Books & Take-Home Readers A friendly reminder that all Library books and Take-Home Readers are due back by the end of this week – Friday 5th December. Holiday reading is such a gift, please keep sharing stories, practising tricky words, and enjoying books together. Reading to your child is just as valuable as hearing them read, and the holidays are the perfect time to enjoy this without the usual school-night rush.

Our Chickens

Our little feathered friends are almost ready for their new homes! We wish we could give one to every child, but for those who are the lucky recipients, we know they’ll be so well loved. Please keep us updated, we can’t wait to hear how they settle in!

Whole School Transition – Tuesday 9th December

Transition day is coming up next week from 9.30am–11am. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to meet their 2026 teachers. Please know that we’ve put a great deal of thought, care, and time into placing students, balancing friendships, learning needs, and social growth. Our goal is always to set your child up for a positive, supported year ahead. Thank you for trusting us with this important process.

End of Year Excursion - Friday 12th Dec

Our final excursion to the Golf Club Movies is booked! Notes have gone out via SIMON or in paper form. Please return these as soon as you can, so we can finalise arrangements. We are all looking forward to this little celebration!

End of Year Mass – Monday 15th December

We warmly invite you to join us at the MPB at 9.30am for our End of Year Mass. Our Preppies will be sharing a special reflection song for their buddies. It’s a truly beautiful celebration and one we hope you won’t miss.

Final Day – Tuesday 16th Our final school day of 2025 has nearly arrived. We will send your children off with full hearts, more confident, more resilient, and so proud of all they have achieved in their first wonderful year of Primary School.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us this year, what an absolute joy they have been! Wishing you all a safe, restful and fabulous holiday.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

“Our Buckets are Full!”
