Respectful Relationships

Community Walk Against Family Violence
It was a lovely day for our walk last Friday. LPS students and staff along with LSC and SGSS students and staff and members of our community walk together to unite and take a stand against family violence. Students walked the loop, stopping to chat with local services such as SES, CFA, Police, South Gippsland Shire, Anglicare, Salvation Army, Berry Street and Headspace. A huge thank you to the staff and volunteers from these services who attended to support our walk and other community members who came out.
The 16 days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence continues to be discussed in our classrooms for the next week. We hope that conversations are being started at home about respect, seeking help, gender stereotypes and family violence as well to build on student learning. We all play a part in changing the story about gender based violence in Australia.
