Carols in the Park promotion

A final reminder that this Sunday (November 30) is the St Paul Lutheran Church Carols in the Park from 5-7pm on Barton Reserve. We are very excited to be able to join in this celebration of community and the Christmas season. Our Junior and Senior choir children will be participating in this year’s event and we look forward to hearing them share their beautiful singing with our community. In the case of inclement weather, please find us in the Hall. We hope to see you there!

Intergenerational Pen Pal Pilot Program

This year, our Year 4 children have been part of a really heartwarming pen pal program with Lutheran Care and the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme. This pilot program has seen our children work in small groups to exchange letters with an aged care resident. Volunteers have then worked with the aged care recipients to write replies and communicate with our children. These letters have travelled back and forwards this year and have seen our children learn about letter writing, cursive handwriting and many features of life for these elderly participants.

Last Wednesday morning, we were fortunate to welcome a number of these volunteers and letter recipients to our SPLASH building for a shared morning tea. Our Year 4 children met the person they had been writing letters to, performed their concert dance, enjoyed a performance from our school choir and some morning tea, and reflected on their pen pal journey. It was a wonderful morning and we really felt the appreciation from the volunteers and the recipients of the children’s letters. A huge thank you to our Year 4 children, our Year 4 teachers, Mrs Azzopardi and everyone else involved in this initiative.

St Paul Support Staff Appreciation Day

Tomorrow we will celebrate St Paul Support Staff Appreciation Day, a special opportunity to recognise and thank the many staff who serve our school community beyond the classroom. From our office and administration teams to our classroom LSOs and all non-teaching staff, we are deeply grateful for the care and dedication they bring to their work here each day.

Their contributions ensure our school runs smoothly, our children feel supported and our families are warmly welcomed. Whether assisting children with their learning, keeping our facilities organised or offering a listening ear, each person is valued and appreciated for their service to our school community.

We are truly blessed to have such a committed team supporting the growth and wellbeing of our children and strengthening the connections within our community. If you have a chance this week, please join us in celebrating our support staff by extending your gratitude and appreciation for all they do.
