Principals Column

As we head into the final few weeks of the school year, I want to take a moment to acknowledge what an enormous term it has been for our students, staff and families. This time of year is always busy, but there’s a wonderful energy around the school as students take on new challenges, prepare for celebrations, enjoy the final learning experiences and come with heightened enthusiasm during our Beach Safety & Awareness program!

Over the coming weeks, we have a number of exciting events taking place — our final week of Beach Safety & Awareness program, transition sessions, graduation preparations for our Year 6 students, and the many end-of-year traditions that make this time so special. Then on top of this we have our Semester 2 reports being released today, Parent/Teacher interviews and our 2026 classes being released next week, as well as the release of our 2025 Year Book and we're in for a massive end to our school year!

I’d like to extend a huge thank-you to our staff, who continue to give so much of themselves to ensure students finish the year feeling confident, supported and proud of their achievements. I’d also like to acknowledge our families for your ongoing partnership, this shared connection is what makes our community such a positive place for children to learn and grow.

In exciting news, after searching for a new OSHC provider throughout the term, we’re pleased to share that we have secured a new After School Program in partnership with Anglesea Discovery Camp. The program will begin on Tuesday 3 February 2026 and will include a “walking bus,” where Anglesea Discovery Camp staff will walk participating students safely from Anglesea PS to the Discovery Camp.

The service will initially run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the aim of expanding to additional days if we can make the program viable. Unfortunatley the program will not include the Child Care Subsidy (for eligible families) and will have a flat rate of $35 per session.
