Mrs Kroek & Mr Gullo

As we near the end of Week 8, we are proud to celebrate all the learning, creativity, and achievements from this term. Our students have worked hard, shown enthusiasm, and made the most of every opportunity.

Literacy

This term, our class has been diving into the world of poetry. Students have been learning how rhythm, sound, and word choice can create emotion and spark imagination. A highlight of our learning was our poetry presentations, where students worked in groups to create and perform their own poems for the class. It was wonderful to see their confidence and creativity shine.

Mathematics

In Maths, students have been developing their problem-solving skills. They explored capacity using jugs of water and compared containers with the same capacity using smaller objects. We also focused on doubling and halving fractions, including quarters, and extended this understanding to larger fractions. Students practised multiplication as repeated addition and were introduced to the concept of chance. It has been fantastic to see their curiosity and mathematical reasoning grow.

HSIE

This term in HSIE, students have been learning all about Italy. We explored the fascinating history of Pompeii and volcanoes, compared life in Italy and Australia today, and looked at the daily routines of Italian children. Students enjoyed discussing the similarities and differences between the two countries and learning more about the world around them.

Gymnastics

This term, students had the opportunity to take part in gymnastics sessions with Ben from Little Champions. Ben showed the students different moves and positions in a fun and easy-to-follow way. After learning the skill of the day, students completed an obstacle course and finished with a quick game. The class really enjoyed these sessions and remained engaged throughout.
