Principal's Report
By Carolyn Serpell
On Monday, family and friends joined us for a presentation of 'Finding our Beat'. Students in Prep-6 showcased their learning in music, with Emily.
Yesterday, Tuesday, 9th December, was Statewide Transition Day. All students, from kinder to Year 6, spent their day with their 2026 class and teacher/school. From all reports students were very excited and enjoyed their day getting to know their teacher for 2026.
Last Friday at assembly, Emily addressed our students and families with a new exciting school mural art project. Our much loved current mural has now become very weathered and is breaking down.
Emily would love it if families could start recycling plastic, colourful lids. Think along the lines of milk bottle lids, plastic lids from jars, in lots of colours and sizes. Please give them a good clean, save as many as you can over the holiday break and bring them for next year.

Friday 12th December, will be our final assembly for the year. We hope that all families are able to attend as we present our annual awards and recognise individual contribution and achievement. A light morning tea will be provided after assembly.
Our school library is now closed to students for borrowing and we ask that all library books be returned by next week please. This will allow our staff to undertake a stocktake and reset for 2026.

On Friday 12th December, our choir, together with the Spookie Ukies and Lakeview Children's Centre, will perform some carols, at the annual Lions Club Carols by Candlelight event. Students will be performing in front of the Jessie Hollands Studio on the lawn, gathering from 6pm. Our performing students have been asked to meet Emily, Conrad and Amanda at 8pm for an 8:20pm performance. Thank you to families for returning the slips advising if your child will be participating. A further note has been sent home with the running of the evening. There will be an additonal performace with the Kinder children of Pop, Bang, Crack and Feliz Navidad at 7pm. Any of our students who can be there by 7pm to join the Kinder singers we would love the extra support. A big thank you to Emily and Conrad for supporting the chior and Spookie Ukies, learning some new christmas songs for their performances.

Continuing on with the Chritsmas festivities, our chior will be visiting Kiewa Valley House on Wednesday 17th at 10am, to perform some carols for the residents.

On Tuesday 16th December, the Year 6 students will perform their play, The Enchanted Bookshop, at the Community Centre. All students in Prep-6 will attend a free matinee performance at 11.30am, ahead of the main performance, at 6.30pm. Entry to the evening performance is by gold coin donation and is open to family, friends and the wider community.
