Foundation News

Dear Families,
What a wonderful year it has been in Foundation! It has been an absolute joy to teach this amazing group of students. I am so proud of the confidence each child has developed, their academic growth and the love of learning that has blossomed in our classroom. The children have made me smile every single day. I will truly miss them next year!
As we move toward the end of the year, we have been celebrating our time together with games and Christmas crafts. We decorated our class Christmas tree and went down to the lake to decorate the trees. Students have also enjoyed making cards for one another. Our classroom post box has been getting a real workout!
During Maths, we have been playing number games to practise our Friends of Ten (ten facts) and doubles. You may like to continue practising these skills over the holidays to keep them fresh.
Memory Book
This year, the students have worked on a Memory Book that captures their writing and number progression, as well as some of the highlights from our year together. I hope you enjoy looking through this special keepsake and celebrating how much your child has grown.
Foundation Guide to Starting School
The Foundation students have been busy putting together their advice for the Foundation 2026 kids. They included advice on what to do when arriving to school, making friends, settling into their classroom as well as ensuring our new foundation students that school is fun! They made a wonderful video and a picture book.
Dear Precious One
In Term 3 Farrah's family welcomed a baby boy. To welcome the arrival of baby Casey, our Foundation class made a book called Dear Precious One. To wish their family all the best our students decorated each page, wrote their sentences and put it together for Farrah and her family.
Reports
Please take the time to read through your child’s report. It was a pleasure to write about the many successes of our Foundation class this year.
Our Beautiful Learning Support Teachers
We thank and acknowledge Macey and Maddie for all their help this year. The girls have always been there to help out where possible to ensure success of our Foundation students. We have loved having them in our class.
I would also like to thank the students for the enthusiasm they have brought into our space each day the love, kindness, and joy they show to staff and peers, and for simply being such a fun group of learners.
To parents and families, thank you for your open and honest communication and for your ongoing support throughout the year. Your partnership has played a huge role in the continued growth of our students.
As we finish our year together, I want to wish every family a safe, restful and joy-filled Christmas and New Year. May this holiday season bring you time to relax, enjoy loved ones and celebrate the many wonderful moments your children have created throughout the year.
Miss Gab
