Indonesian Cultural Day

with Ita Rose

Mount Beauty Secondary College proudly hosted their 4th Indonesian Cultural Day last week on Wednesday, October 25th, marking a splendid celebration of Indonesian culture. The event brought together enthusiastic students not only from Mount Beauty Secondary College but also from Cathedral College Wangaratta, both actively engaged in the study of Indonesian language and culture.

The day was filled with vibrant performances, showcasing traditional dances by students from both schools. A special highlight was a mesmerizing dance performance by Ms. Anne from Tarawingee. In addition to the lively dance displays, the students had the privilege of delving into the rich musical heritage of Indonesia. The Indonesian Consulate General Melbourne, Mr. Kuncoro Waseso and his dedicated team, conducted an engaging workshop on 'Angklung,' a traditional musical instrument from West Java.

The festivities reached a delightful crescendo as everyone joined in the traditional Indonesian folk dance, poco-poco, uniting students, staff, and guests in a joyful celebration of Indonesian culture.  We hope you like our video above of this great event.
