Last week, our VCE Vocational Major students attended a session at the Centre For Participation that focused on volunteering, what it is, the reasons for volunteering, the benefits of volunteering and the rights and responsibilities involved with volunteering. The session was delivered by Marieke Dam and supported by Danielle Watts. The students will be organising opportunities for volunteering in November.
Today was Mock Interview day for the Year 10 students. As part of Pathways to the Future, the students have each chosen a job position, written a cover letter, created a resume and submitted their applications online. During class they also covered how to prepare for a job interview, including what to wear. Our panel members were Vanessa O’Loughlin, David Crooks, and Di Dent from Wimmera Southern Mallee LLEN, Melissa Powell from Mas Experience and Kim Adams and Tamira Cullinan from Skillinvest. Congratulations to the students for their participation and thank you to the support of the panel members, it is always greatly appreciated. The Mock Interview Program is a valuable learning experience for the students involved.
We wish all the best to ou students, Jack Bartlett, Hannah Arnup & Bethany Arnup, who will be performing in Stawell Performing Arts Company Inc's upcoming production of Hood. Tickets are available now for the shows over the coming weeks.
