Monday 6th November

Please remember Monday 6th November is a normal school day.  We acknowledge many families take the opportunity to make this as a long weekend break when combined with the public holiday on Tuesday 7th November.  

If your child will not be at school on Monday, please ensure you record their non-attendance via Compass.

State Track and Field Primary Boys/Mixed Girls State Championships

Congratulations to the five students who took part in the State Track and Field Primary Boys/Mixed Girls State Championships yesterday at the Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park.  

Our U9/10 girls 4x100m relay team (Audrey H, Eva R, Bo G and Mila B in the photo above with Mr Anderson) progressed through the heats during the day and then took the silver medal in the final.  In the 9/10yr girls triple jump, Eliza O finished 10th.  These are incredible achievements when you think of the total number of students who have taken part in this competition over the last few months from primary schools across the whole state.

Goodbye Jonathan Cartwright

On Monday next week we will say goodbye to Jon Cartwright.  Jon has been our part-time Grounds/Maintenance Officer at Parkdale Primary for the last two years.  Single-handedly responsible for keeping our grounds so tidy, the garden beds planted/weeded and small maintenance works around the school buildings and grounds.  His most recent significant project was creating our Japanese garden at the front of the school. 

The team at PPS will miss Jon.  We thank Jon for his work at Parkdale PS and wish him all the very best.
