Year 7 Career Curiosity Day

The Year 7 Career Curiosity morning took place on Wednesday, November 8th.

Our Year 7s were engaged in the presentation from Tyson Day of ‘Arrive and Thrive’. One of the key questions Tyson asked the Year 7s was ‘What are you roaring about?’ What is it that sparks passion in what you do and curiosity to learn?

The morning also focussed on What is a career?, identifying our strengths & interests, our relationships with work, the importance of contribution and telling our own story.

Students then completed their Career Action Plan and set goals for their transition into year 8. We had some wonderful submissions for the Pathways challenge which had fun prizes for the winners.

We are excited for our Year 7s to step up to the challenges that they have set for themselves as they move into their next chapter of Secondary School.

What is it like to work in a photography studio?

Photography studios provide a dedicated space equipped with specialised equipment, such as lighting setups, backdrops, and props, to ensure optimal conditions for capturing high-quality images. Photographers can manipulate and control various elements, including lighting angles and intensity, to achieve desired visual effects.

This controlled setting allows for precise composition and focus, resulting in professional-grade photographs suitable for a range of purposes, from portraits to product photography.

While every photography studio is different, they do have some things in common:

  1. Attention to detail is key – from framing shots to refining the smallest elements in post-processing.
  2. You’ll work with all different kinds of people – not just clients, but your co-workers as well.
  3. Organisation is important too – for keeping track of equipment and working to strict deadlines.
