Geelong Manufacturing Council
Last week marked the conclusion of the 2024 Geelong Manufacturing Council (GMC) school-based programs, with the graduation ceremony held on Wednesday.
This year’s programs included:
- GLAM (Girls Leading Advanced Manufacturing)
- GFLOI (Geelong Future Leaders of Industry)
- WoW – Clean Economy (World of Work)
- Seed 2 Stem GLAM
Here’s a snapshot of the year’s achievements:
- 51 students participated
- 15 schools were involved
- 46 Geelong manufacturing companies were visited
- 41 pairs of steel-capped boots were purchased for students by GMC
- 17 tour days were conducted
Ben also won one of the four Deakin awards, for showing leadership skills, commitment and growth, and was awarded $500, thanks to Deakin University. It’s been an incredibly busy and rewarding year!

Trolley Collectors Wanted!
We, RDR (Aust) Pty Ltd are an employer that provides Trolley Collection Services to the major chain stores (e.g. Coles, Kmart, Target, Woolworths, Aldi etc). We are currently looking for Trolley Collectors in the Greater Geelong region.
We have a 7 day roster, Monday - Sunday with shifts available after school and on weekends, as well as over the Christmas holiday period.
Requirements:
- NO experience needed, just a can do attitude
- You will be required to use apps on a smart phone to clock in/out (digital timesheets)
- Before commencement, you will be required to complete online site/safety inductions.
- Trolley fitness can be built up over the initial few weeks in the job, but ideally they will have the physical capability to push up to 10 trolleys at a time.
